Secure connection is the cornerstone of mental health. And you can create it.
Book a Free CallAre you feeling unloved and disconnected? Maybe sex has become a minefield or a distant memory. Or you can't get past the past — and your partner doesn't know how to help. Possibly nothing is dramatically wrong. You simply know that an important part of your life could feel more alive.
As human beings, our brains are wired to expect the presence of caring others. When that connection breaks down, your whole system feels it. The attachment-based, sex-positive, and trauma-informed therapies I practice are among the most rigorously researched in existence. In working with hundreds of couples, I've had the immense privilege of helping people discover how secure connection can transform their relationships with their partners, and even themselves. Let's see if I can help you.

I'm Macdara MacColl, but please just call me Mac. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I'm also trained in EMDR and IFS and have served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Joseph, teaching graduate courses in couples and family therapy and human sexuality.
I love working with thoughtful, accomplished people. You may be very good at understanding problems—and still find that insight alone hasn't changed the relationship pattern you're caught in. My job is to help you experience something new.

Emotionally Focused Therapy gets underneath the argument on the surface to the attachment needs driving it. In clinical research, 70–75% of distressed couples recover through EFT — with gains that hold years after treatment ends.
AASECT-certified work with desire, intimacy, shame, and the full range of human sexuality — approached with curiosity, not judgment.
Two of the most effective trauma approaches available. For the hard things you've been through that keep showing up in your relationships and your body.
